Novee AI is the AI intelligence layer transforming how trillions of dollars in insurance risk is assessed and underwritten. Behind every plane, power plant or vessel lies a complex web of decisions that keep the world running, yet these decisions are still driven by manual processes and gut feel. Underwriters spend hours trawling through fragmented documents and emails to understand and assess complex risks. Novee exists to reimagine how these risks are assessed, enabling a faster, more data-driven and consistent approach to underwriting.
Insurtech Gateway participated in Novee’s £1.6m round led by 42Cap in July 2025.
Problem
Commercial and specialty underwriters are burdened by manual, repetitive tasks that consume time and limit their ability to write new business. They spend up to half their time piecing together fragmented information from documents and emails, often relying on gut feel over structured, data-driven insights. This limits speed, consistency, and capacity.
Solution
Novee solves this differently. It understands the full submission—regardless of format—and applies each team’s unique risk logic, captured in natural language and updated in real time. Submissions are assessed instantly, with actionable insights (with citations) surfaced directly in existing systems. Captured data flows through workflows, automating tasks and powering real-time pipeline and portfolio analytics.
Novee Founders
Haris Khan (CEO) – Haris previously worked at Deloitte, delivering AI underwriting projects for carriers across the London Market. He also founded an AI startup focused on providing granular property data from aerial and street-view imagery to underwriters.
Arved Pohlabeln (CPO) – Arved also worked at Deloitte, delivering AI underwriting projects for carriers across the London Market. He has deep expertise in the Lloyd’s Market, having led the definition of key data standards—streamlining and modernising the market.
Ehsan Ziya (CTO) – Ehsan has built and managed AI systems and products at scale. He understands the insurance market and the functional aspects of processes—a competitive edge when building AI systems.
